Steam Cleaner Surface Safety Guide

Steam can loosen grime without many cleaning chemicals, but high heat and moisture are unsuitable for some finishes, seals and electrical areas.

Check the surface

Read both appliance and surface-care instructions. Avoid unsealed wood, delicate paint, waxed floors, cold glass and materials that prohibit heat or moisture.

Work safely

Wear closed shoes and suitable gloves, ventilate the room and keep the jet away from skin, pets, sockets and appliances. Never open a pressurised tank.

Use a test area

Vacuum loose dirt, test an inconspicuous spot and use the correct attachment. Keep the head moving and wipe released soil rather than saturating joints.

Cool and maintain

Unplug, release pressure and cool completely before refilling or storage. Empty and descale only as instructed.
