Bluetooth Audio Codec and Range Guide

Bluetooth performance depends on both source and speaker. A named codec or version on one device does not guarantee that the connection will use it.
Codec negotiation
The source and speaker automatically select a mutually supported codec. Confirm support on both devices and remember that apps and operating systems can impose limits.
Realistic range
Walls, people, metal, water and competing wireless traffic reduce the open-space maximum. Keep the source nearby and avoid enclosing it behind dense objects.
Fix dropouts
Charge both devices, remove stale pairings, restart them, update firmware and test away from routers or crowded USB equipment.
Consider latency
Codec, buffering and processing affect lip-sync. For games or instruments, use a verified low-latency mode or wired input where available.
Before buying
- Confirm dimensions and compatibility.
- Read safety, care, warranty and return terms.
- Compare maintenance and total cost.
