How to Pack a Suit for Travel and Reduce Wrinkles

A suit travels best when it is clean, dry, lightly packed and given space on arrival. No folding method guarantees a crease-free result.
Prepare the garment
Empty pockets, remove heavy accessories and brush away surface dirt. Fasten only as recommended and inspect buttons. Use a breathable garment sleeve for longer storage, not sealed plastic around damp clothing.
Fold with structure
Turn one jacket shoulder gently inside out, nest the other shoulder into it, align lapels and fold with minimal pressure. Place tissue or a soft shirt at sharp folds. Fold trousers along their crease.
Pack around it
Put shoes in bags at the case edges and keep hard objects away from lapels. Lay the suit near the top or use a structured compartment. Do not compress it beneath an overfilled packing cube.
On arrival
Unpack immediately and hang on a supportive hanger. Allow humidity and gravity time to work. Steam only when the care label permits, never while worn, and keep the appliance moving.
Practical checklist
- Confirm the exact product, material and intended use.
- Compare measurements and total ownership cost.
- Read current safety, care, return and delivery terms.
- Stop when instructions, condition or compatibility are uncertain.
